Maroon Beret Ceremonial Parade at Garud Regimental Training Center in Chandinagar – ThePrint

New Delhi [India]Feb. 13 (ANI): To mark the completion of the training of 127 Air Force Special Forces officers from the Garud Force, the Maroon Beret Ceremonial Parade was held at the training center on Saturday. Garud’s Regimental (GRTC), Air Force Station Chandinagar, the Ministry of Defense said.

The chief guest, Air Vice Marshal PS Karkare, Senior Officer in Charge of Administration, Headquarters Western Air Command, reviewed the parade.

Wing Commander Trilok Sharma, the Commander of the GRTC received the guest of honor and gave a briefing on various aspects of the training.

According to an official statement from the Ministry of Defence, the chief guest congratulated the Garuds on their successful passing out of the Garud Regimental Training Center. Addressing the young Garuds, he stressed the importance of special forces training and skills development to keep pace with the changing security scenario.

He presented Maroon Beret, Garud Proficiency Badge and Special Forces Tabs to successful Garud trainees and presented trophies to deserving trainees who passed out. The best all-rounder trophy was given to LAC Suryawanshi Shivcharan Arjun.

During the Passing Out Ceremony, the ‘Garuds’ demonstrated various skills such as Combat Shooting, Hostage Rescue, Shooting Drill, Assault Explosives, Obstacle Crossing Drill , climbing, sliding, abseiling and military martial arts.

The ceremonial parade of maroon berets is a moment of pride and accomplishment for the Garud, marking the culmination of their training and transformation from “young special forces operators” to joining the elite force. (ANI)
